Custom domain

Hello,

I am trying to test the hosting of a custom app that I want hosted on a custom domain name. Is this possible?

Let's say I have registered a custom domain like www.customdomain.com. Can I host this site on MonsterASP? If yes, how can I do this? I know it's probably a feature only for Premium accounts, but I want to make sure this is possible before getting a Premium account.

custom domain can only be used with Premium plan. Unfortunately, our Control panel doesn't allow it on Free plan. However, if your application works on our Free subdomain (something).runasp.net, there's no reason it shouldn't work correctly on your own domain as well 🙂 If you do encounter any issues, please submit support ticket via Control panel and we'll be happy to assist you 👍️

Hello,

Thank you for the prompt response. I just want to make sure that it will work as I intend it to. I want the users to write www.customdomain.com in the browser and the page that loads to be hosted by MonsterASP. I believe I would have to configure the DNS records for that domain to point to and IP address of the MonsterASP servers. Is that correct?

yes, that is correct and exactly how it works. You just need to set our NS servers for your custom domain (www.customdomain.com):

ns1.machineasp.net
ns2.machineasp.net
ns3.machineasp.net

Then add this custom domain to your Premium website via our Control panel and visitors will see your website's content at www.customdomain.com
