One Year Anniversary 🥇

It’s been one year since we launched our ASP.NET hosting platform, and we’d like to share our achievements, challenges, and future plans. Let’s start with some statistics. In one year, we’ve managed to:

gain over 5,000 customers
host 5,520 websites
host 4,480 databases
now we have 80 paid subscriptions
answer incredible 420 support tickets and 70 questions on our forum

One year ago, we fulfilled our dream. After more than year of coding and hard work, we launched our modern cloud platform for ASP.NET hosting 💪 Initially, we needed simple and functional solution to host our own ASP.NET projects, but we couldn’t find anything affordable that met our needs. Traditional hosting providers had outdated systems where many tasks had to be done manually and cloud services were modern but complex and very expensive. Plesk seemed like best option at first, but over time we became disappointed 🌧️

Using our experience from previous projects, we decided to build our own ASP.NET hosting platform in the way we believed an ideal solution should work. Over past year, we’ve built stable, high-quality platform that we can continuously improve, adding new features and services to make it even better 🚀 We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved and working on this platform is our daily joy and passion. We want to be like lightweight version of Azure Web App Services 😎

With our first success came our first problems 😥 As we grew more popular, scammers started using our Freehosting to host fraudulent websites. As result Google blocked our Free domain runasp.net. We quickly identified and resolved issue and domain was unblocked within 24 hours 🙏 We’ve since implemented security measures to prevent this from happening again, but we must to fight scammers and fraud every day.

Another challenge we faced was choosing poor datacenter provider. We experienced several outages in short period, with last one issue resulting in 24-hour network problems. Provider wasn’t honest about this situation, which led us to switch to new datacenter provider with much better services and experience.

We consider it great success that we were able to migrate to the new datacenter with less than 10 minutes of downtime 😮

Three months ago we launched our Premium plan. At an affordable price, it offers more storage, features, and higher performance, security, stability, and backups. We’re now proud to have 80 Premium subscribers ⛅️ Sales from Premium plan help us support our Free services which have become more costly as we’ve grown 📈

Launching Premium plan was real challenge. We had to set up company, comply with EU regulations, establish payment gateway and integrate all with our Control panel and billing system. We also became Microsoft partner to ensure highest quality of service. All of this delayed launch of the Premium plan by over 3 months 🫢

What’s coming next

Unfortunately, we will need to introduce measures for inactive Free websites and Free databases as number of sites and databases on our servers is growing rapidly. Many of these are just temporary projects that customers no longer use, which increases our costs ☠️ We need to find way to retain only websites and databases that customers truly want to keep.

📣 Many customers have asked for ability to host multiple websites and databases for one subscription. This week, we’re launching our Premium MULTI plan, which allows you to host up to 10 Premium websites and 10 Premium databases for just $6.95/month. We believe this will be perfect for multi-hosting solution.

🕵️ To enhance security of our servers, we are currently testing an antivirus solution, that best meets our requirements.

We’re also working on easy way for you to extend your Premium services with single click, allowing you to add more disk space, RAM, email accounts or databases as your needs grow. We believe this feature will help you respond quickly to your evolving requirements.

At same time, we are developing new features, such as Task scheduler to run scripts on scheduled basis and easy way to restore your website from our backups (similar to how database restores work now). New features are coming soon! Stay tuned! 👀
